Early Work
-
I began my formal art education at the Kansas City Art Institute, where I fell in love with relief printing. I later transferred to Columbia College in order to earn my Art Education Certification alongside my BFA. Exploration and experimentation were strongly encouraged, and over time, I developed an fascination with abstracted imagery.
My senior portfolio highlighted and celebrated water, in its many shapes, forms, and effects. Water is vital to all forms of life, has unique chemical properties, and creates (in my opinion) aesthetically pleasing shapes. I find that all of my work, no matter the inspiration, is influenced by the shapes I learned from studying water for my portfolio.
